Bees do love buzzing about, pollinating plants and making delicious honey as well as beeswax. It's quite a pretty sight to see. But what happens when they decide to nest on your property. That pretty sight quickly becomes quite scary - not to mention dangerous.
There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees around the globe and are found in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants, and on every continent except Antarctica.
The stings of most Australian native species of bee will cause relatively minor discomfort to most people. Some bee-sting survivors claim, "It's not as painful as those of a bull ant or wasp and last only a few minutes". However, they may sting more than once, and can cause an allergic reaction, increasing the effect associated with repeated exposure to the antigen.
